During Kathleen's Making Workshop we were instructed as a team to come up with 30 Keywords that are relative to our 'NATURE' group.

PURE | EVOLUTION | BEAUTY | FEAR | EMOTIONAL | FREE | SHELTER | STRUCTURE | GEOLOGY | NATURAL DISASTER | GEOGRAPHY | LIFE SURVIVOR | ORGANISMS | PROVIDER | HABITATS | ECOLOGY | ENDANGERED | FRAGILE | SUSTAINABLE | PRECIOUS | LIFECYCLE | DECAY | LAYEREDGROWTHADAPTATION | (NON)RENEWABLE | ELEMENTS | WATER | EARTH | AIR/WIND | FIRE | SUNLIGHT

I selected eight words that were most interesting to me, and collected photos that I had either taken in the past, as well as new photos of my surroundings.

  • tipi is an old traditional form of shelter
  • now a popular indoor shelter for children or pets

To me this photo series represents looking back on the past and being afraid to let it go and move forward.

  • nature
  • animals
  • freedom
  • similar looking but each is unique

The birds in these cages represent survivors to me because they have been taken from their natural habitat and have adapted to survive under new circumstances and conditions different from their natural instincts.

I find the layers in stones to be fascinating because of the different mixtures of colours and how their textures and thicknesses differ.

  • our bodies are our capsules to live life
  • much of what we experience in life is a result of our bodies
  • our bodies help us interact with others

Over time everything grows. Whether it's society, technology, our surroundings, or people as individuals.

The relationship between nature and different art forms is often relative. Inspiration is taken from animals and nature and adapted to be relevant to humans and consumers.
